Creator of Mortal Kombat would not mind to start a fight with the Street Fighter

A few years ago we did not believe that the two major Japanese martial arts series could coop. However, Tekken and Street Fighter at least with one part done their crossover project and to the many fulfil their childhood dreams of strength showdown between the Jin and Ryu, as well as many of other characters of these two universes.

Now it's also hard to believe that one day Street Fighter could cross hands with Mortal Kombat series, but if you ask about the creator of the bottom one, he would not mind if Capcom came up with this idea.

In an interview with IGN, Ed Boon said that he would definitely think twice about such a project. "There's a part of me that thinks it would be a really cool dream; and then there is a part that says that there is no chance that this would satisfy both fans of the camp. "- explained Boon.

Of course, at what did Boon aims is an essential difference in the view of violence between the two games. On the one hand fans of Mortal Kombat would not be happy if none of the SF team would not end without limbs, and on the other side of Street Fighter fans would not be happy if their characters tore the limbs of others.

Boon confirms that the whole project would be very difficult to perform because the two series are based on different things and have very different speed of play. In other words, one series would need to sacrifice something, a Boon does not know if he could find the right balance in that project.

It could be said that he speaks with the experience because he had similar homework with the game Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe that did not made fans happy with throwing out the cult fatality moves.

Well, indeed, the two games are just too different gameplay-wise and it would either be a Street Fighter with Mortal Kombat characters (similar to Street fighter vs Tekken) or the other way around, which I doubt because Street Fighter is the bigger game here. Either way, I don't have high hopes in this.

While both game are indeed 'fighting' games, I don't feel like the two would mix well.  SF x Tekken worked because the fight sequence is nearly identical.  MK is set through multiple universes and is more mystic.  I would rather see each of these games focus more on releasing a strong standalone game.
