Styx: Shards of Darkness publishers are not afraid of thieves

  • 212

More and more new games in the PC versions use Denuvo DRM or protection against piracy. Irony is, however, how big-budget game with the theft theme will not be specially protected from thieves. However, Styx: Shards of Darkness that comes out later this day will not have any protection, which means that the owners of the legal versions will not be able to complain about the DRM system if their game is creating problems during the execution.

On the other hand, the pirate groups will literally won`t have special business with the game. The publishing house Focus Home Interactive has not offered reasons for this decision, which may mean that they are quite confident in the success of the game, even to the extent that they hope that the PC gamers will know to reward Styx quality.

Well, this is kind of usual for Focus Home Interactive publisher. Previous ambitious game: Technomancer also don't have Denuvo DRM.
Denuvo is kind of costy and plenty of Focus games have B-game budgets, not AAA, despite the fact that they are all trying to maintain a high standard of quality (at least in some parts which their budget allows)...
