Nier: Automata creator is tired of AAA games
Those who have not had any opportunity to meet Yoko Taro, probably have memorized him by the statements and outbursts before Nier: Automata release. It may seem as if he is completely insane, but it is about a very creative and passionate director who has dedicated his life to games, so in the Toco Toco TV report says that except video games and watching movies he doesn`t have any other pursuits.
Players of his games he`s calling strange, since his games are strange and find unconventional ways of having fun. He's tired of AAA games that are beautiful in the first twenty minutes, but could not survive the next twenty hours, so he targets every time to make an unexpected game that even with that changes its shape during gameplay. He even says that the similarities in his games he sees as a failure.
He does not want to impose anything to the players or offer them only one choice, to answer or whatever, he only wants themselves to find it in his games. Now when he`s the head of development he sees himself as the last boss of RPG game which young creative hero must beat and make a new game. But, while being very modest and self-conscious, he says that the most important to him is doubt in himself.
