Who cares!? Let people do what they want with their money! Seriously, this is such a ridiculous communist debate.

Yes of course, apparently it's stupid to think that betting can affect the obvious demographic that is composed of children that can develop addictions by losing unnecessary amounts of money from their parents. Or the fact that they know next to nothing about consequences and when they lose valuable shit like in the TF2/CS GO gambling scene, where they tend to scam people to compensate for the loss, which happened numerous times.

Again, if you're a grown ass adult with your own money and you gamble on gaming or anywhere, be my guest, i have nothing against it. But to say that it's stupid to think betting is harmful in video games is a pretty stupid thing to say in itself.

But yes, that's coming from the guy that said it's an easy prediction that World of Tanks will still be popular for 10, 20 and even 30 years in to the future.

I definitely won't deny that WOT has a pretty large fanbase currently, but to say it's an "easy" bet that your game will still be popular for the duration where NES games evolved in today's games, is a pretty pretentious thing to say, and more than anything it makes you look like a dick, especially with the gambling comment.

It's easier to bet that a better game will come out in 30 years from now.

All your base are belong to us.

If you can bet on amateur sports, why can't you do it with professional eSport games? Of course as long as you are 18+/21+ yo (depends on a country's domestic law) and using your own money.

I think there's general consent that adults should be able to bet if they like. As Sulimen pointed out many players of popular games are 'adolescent males'(kids). In civilized countries betting is illegal under a certain age.

To keep things legit you need a method to verify the betters are of age plus supervise the betting platform to avoid scams as we had with CSGO sites.
