Wild West Online has found investors, so it will skip Kickstarter and Early Access

For Wild West Online we first heard when we thought it was about picture from Red Dead Redemption 2 game that was just a good promotion for the game itself. At first it seemed that kind of promotion would need it because it was getting ready for the Kickstarter campaign that was supposed to require 250 thousand dollars to complete the game, but that won`t be necessary in the end.

We find that the initial investors who enabled the project were delighted by the player's reaction to the game's reveal, so they`ve decided to completely fund it. This means that Wild West Online will skip the Kickstarter campaign, as well as Early Access where it should end up also when it's ready to go out on the market alongside with all the additional content that would allow extra cash in the Kickstarter campaign like playable female characters, card games and similar.

These are great news because fans do not have to risk their investment in a product that is just in developing, and we hope that individual funding will enable higher quality of production. For now, the developers will devote themselves to the extensions of maps, worlds, stories, and other content that will be free for all players. More information and pictures of the game can be found on the official site.

Very good news, not having to worry about Kickstarter backing and the various fund goals is great.  I'm also glad to see from the website that they plan on having the possiblity for PvE servers, that makes me much more interested in the potential of this game than I was originally.  Thanks

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I didn't really take much notice of this game when the screenshots from it were thought to be RDR2, but yeah giving it a look now it actually looks like it could be something good. And now that they have found funds other than kickstarter that is very good news and gives the game a level of security, so it should hopefully go smoothly. It might be some competition for Rockstar, especially if they delay the PC release of RDR2.

I hope they will consider a single player campaign too. I am not against online multiplayer, but sometimes you need just to relax and enjoy a good story set in the old far west. Btw 3 games with western setting incoming: RDR2, Far Cry 5 (not confirmed it) and Wild West Online.

Lunar

Those are some great news for everybody, the devs don't have to wait to see if they could reach the needed Kickstarter amount and the future/fans should be happy because they don't have to worry about Kickstarting the game.

Let's hope for a single player or co-op campaign too and some great gameplay.

We dont have RDR 2 on PC so this is very exciting to have a MMO game about wild west!!

Interstellar

Kickstarter doesn't seem to be as successful as it once was for big projects unless the developers are already known.  So this is probably the best thing that could happen for them.

Interstellar

That is good to hear as I really want a game like this on PC.  Now watch Rockstar announce a Red Dead Remaster and Red Dead 2 for PC at E3.

Galactic

This is kind of good news, as long as it allows developers/designers to keep their own vision of the game. Publishers tend to push for monetization more than they should.
