Eight-core processors were unnecessary for Intel so the company's new series of its processors decided to rely on a minimum of 4, and a maximum of 18 processor cores. The official name of the line that was presented yesterday is the Core X-Series, lead by the i9-7980XE processor.

This miniature beast from Intel has 18 cores and is the first Intel chip for a private user who has over one teraflop of computer power. Designed for demanding users who deal with 4K content editting, and to gamers can best serve if they stream games and record them at the same time. In 4K resolution, of course.

Something like this has its price, and it's up to two thousand dollars for mentioned model. Model Core i9-7900X with ten cores will cost half of it - a thousand dollars. All i9 processors will work on a basic 3.3 GHz speed that will go up to 4.5 GHz with Turbo Boost 3.0 technology. All that crude power will draw as much as 140 watts of electricity, and will cool only with Intel`s cooler with liquid solution.
