Sega Forever - old school Sega games on smartphones

  • 27

There is no shortage of modern, bright, innovative games, but what about the titles of the past days? Sega found a solution for its collection of tube old school. The company announced the launch of the first wave of the Sega Forever collection, five games of which should begin a new fashion for console gaming of the 90s.

Starting today, Sonic the Hedgehog, Phantasy Star II, Comix Zone, Kid Chameleon and Altered Beast are available on Google Play and iTunes as free (but advertised) games. If desired, you can buy games for $ 2 per piece, but without advertising. In all other respects, the functionality is the same in all versions.

Sega said that it plans to add new games to the collection every couple of weeks, including official emulators and ports from different console epochs.

That's some greaat stuff. Miss playing some Sonic. Hope they will make some sort of Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connection to play games like Altered Beast with a friend (and one day Streets of Rage perhaps).

Imagine how cool this would have been back in the day.  You could fit the entire library of games onto your portable phone.
