Developer of Saints Row series shared layoffs due to the poor sales of their last game

In the year 1999. Volition was founded, and four years later it was bought by THQ. Volition which for years has been looking for a place in the video game industry, and found it in the Red Faction series, somewhat later in the Saints Row franchise that defined it. After THQ Bankruptcy in 2013, the ownership over the Illinois based company took over Deep Silver.

The company was mostly doing well until the release of their latest title. Namely, Agents of Mayhem, located in the same world as Saints Row, picked up a lot of bad ratings from critics, and the public with that also agreed. The number of copies sold suggests Volition jumped and handed the game far below the level set by its predecessors.

As a result of that, Volition laid off more than 30 employees, including General Director Dana Cermak, from a total of 200 that currently work in the company. However, since Volition and Deep Silver have not yet verified whether it came to a genuine split with this information it is necessary to deal as the claims rather than the facts.

Too bad, I love the Saints Row Series so much (personally prefer it over GTA). It´s a pain to see People who created this masterpieces lost their Jobs.
