A Long Look At Death Stranding, Which Is Still Weird As Hell

  • 17

In a 8 minute long trailer, we're finally given some details to the madness behind Kojima's new game.

It appears that Norman Reedus’ character has crash landed somewhere dangerous, where invisible creatures roam the land. The whole thing gives off a horror game vibe, so maybe we don’t have to be sad about never getting that Silent Hills collaboration anymore.

The footage is flippin’ bonkers. There are giant shadow men, a fetus, golden deteriorating skulls, suicides, and an apparently pregnant Norman Reedus. “Once there was an explosion, a bang that gave rise to life as we know it,” Reedus growls. “Then came the next explosion. An explosion that will be our last.”

There's no official word yet on when Death Stranding will release, but Kojima himself hinted that it might launch in 2018. It stars Mads Mikkelson (Hannibal), director Guillermo Del Toro, and Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead). In April, Kojima spoke a little about the game, explaining why he wanted Norman Reedus to be naked in the game's first trailer.

I know we aren't fans of single word comments but ...

WOAH!

What was THAT? (I'm in. But I'll be playing it with the lights on)

I was watching the trailer live on steam and i realized i cannot play this at all since i am not a horror fan tbh. The first 4 minute scared the shit outta me

It'll be cool. An epic trailer, monsters are like the black ones from the Metro 2033

i have not done enough drugs today to adequately comment on what I just saw.  These trailers are good for wetting your whistle,  but I want to see some gameplay.

What the hell is going on Kojima definitely has a unique mind , He's got the attention of everyone with these 3 trailers.

That's the reason why people love him. If publishers doesn't let him be creative he will find a way to innovate. Look at Konami now... without Kojima they are nothing. They will concentrate on mobile now. He wasn't allowed to attend the game awards in 2015, but now he is back with a game. No wonders people respect him.
