Disney retro classic games The Lion King, The Jungle Book, and Aladdin are quietly released on Steam

If like me you grew up watching Disney's animated classics repeatedly on VHS, chances are you also played some of their video game adaptations.

Unlike most video game adaptations of movies, Disney's films actually have a fantastic and positive history with gaming.

Now, after more than 20 years, three such well-regarded games by Virgin Interactive Entertainment - The Lion King, Aladdin, and The Jungle Book - are finally available on PC via Steam..

Aladdin video game
This Aladdin video game is one of the two well-regarded titles based on the movie released around the same time

The classics have previously been available on GOG.com , but as most PC gamer's platform of choice, these surprise releases on Steam are certainly worth getting excited about.

Each platformer classic is currently available for less than £5 each, so if you happened to grow up with them, now's your chance to relive them.

While the Aladdin game is the Virgin Games version and not the more beloved SNES games, it's still a SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis classic.

The Lion King game wasn't the best-received game back in the day, largely due to its insane difficulty, but it's still fondly remembered nowadays by those who played it.

The Jungle Book is another classic Disney game well worth playing - even if it didn't make great use of one of the movie's best characters, Baloo.

Better buy these today before they go back into the Vault!

Here I am, ready to play. Gaming enthusiast without free time to actually play video games but eager to learn anything

These games were amazing back in the day, remember the excellent gameplay and animations. I'm sure they are still very enjoyable titles.

Interstellar

It was only exclusive for a while on GOG. They did the same thing with some older Star Wars games and later released them on Steam. Plus what it means that they can be in future Humble Bundles now because publishers prefer giving people Steam keys rather than GOG.

As for the games I played all of them when I was younger. Sadly I only played the inferior NES port of The Jungle Book but it was still fun. Aladdin is fun, but The Jungle Book has a hard part right at the beginning of the game. They did make it hard on purpose so that not that many people could reach later levels in the game while trying out the game in the store. That level gave kids lot lots of trouble because some just couldn't beat it.

Hello, I love you, won't you tell me your name

Very retro indeed :)
