Star Trek: Bridge Crew is no longer VR exclusive

  • 34

Star Trek: Bridge Crew is designed as a cooperative multiplayer game. However, as it is also a VR game, the multiplayer has so far been severely limited since there are not many players that own VR headsets, and the community is still split because there is no cross-play option between PC and PS4 version of the game. Developers are aware of this, so they decided to fix the situation by adding support for classic gaming - without VR headset.

After the new update, Star Trek: Bridge Crew is no longer just VR game and can be also played without VR headset. In multiplayer like that can join players with VR headset, but also players without. In the case of PC version support for VR has been expanded and it is now possible to use Windows Mixed Reality devices for virtual reality experience.

Doing exclusives on the VR a little unreasonable. Early, everything has its time.

I can see how VR would be fun for this, but releasing a non-VR version will probably help with sales and maintaining a healthy population.
