Star Citizen in 2017 earned more than any other Kickstarter game - together

  • 38

There are a number of burning mysteries on this world, such, how old is Tommy Wiseau, what tells us Voyniche's handwriting and who donates the amount of money to develop the game we know as Star Citizen. This space simulation has so far raised more than 175 million dollars through the crowdfunding method, actually like that people have literally thrown money at Chris Roberts and his team.

Out of that amount 34.9 million dollars was collected during 2017, which means that Star Citizen raised more money than all other Kickstarter games - together. To make things even worse - this is not the first time for him, but for the second year in a row.

However, in the result is not counted as to how much money makers of Star Citizen had to refund to unhappy buyers, and these certainly was because the team last year constantly were delaying the release of alpha build version 3.0. On the other hand, it can be said that earnings are for the first time smaller because for the game development year before was raised a million dollars more.

wow thats impressive

Unlike what was delivered so far unfortunately....

That's because Star Citizen offers tangible assets to its backers. They're basically spending their hard-earned money on something as useful as food or shelter. Nothing could possibly go wrong.

Existential

This demonstrates how much the market wants this game.  I hope it doesn't end like most with just empty promises.

Here I am, ready to play. Gaming enthusiast without free time to actually play video games but eager to learn anything

Well, Basically they asked people to give them money, so they must work hard to give something back to them, not so hard earned money.

Interstellar

They gonna milk those backers more than Mark Hamill did with that alien titted monster in the last jedi
