Scavengers is a new game from makers of Halo and Battlefield

In the last two years, many developers wanted to take part of the cake from MOBA and hero shooter genres. This year, interest has gone to battle royale games. In the near future, popularity might fall into a combination of these genres, and one of the first games that strives to achieve this will be called Scavengers.

Scavengers is the newly announced, big-budget project from the new studio Midwinter Entertainment led by Josh Holmes, former director of 343 Studios and creative director of the newer Halo series. It's about third-person shooter, then science-fantasy themed game in which a group of survivors fight in the post-apocalyptic world after cataclysms.

Developers call their Scavengers as a "co-mpetitive" game, which means that it is both co-operative and competitive at the same time. The concept itself is designed according to Warzone mode from Halo 5, meaning that players will be free to explore a large map and fight AI controlled enemies, but occasionally they will bump on other players as well.

In essence, the game promises the same thing Ubisoft wanted to achieve with The Division before PvP split into a separate region. Because of what Scavengers could suceed in joining PvE and PvP models is reliance on the SpatialOS cloud platform that is currently in beta testing and allows developers to split shares across the world on multiple different servers. Developer also promises an intelligent mapping of the opponent's map what kind of otherwise would not be available in traditional client-server architecture.

Scavengers do not have a scheduled release date yet, and also was not reveal on which platforms game will appear.

This looks promising! But sadly its multiplayer only ... How Bethesda said it correctly: "Singleplayer is dying".
