The Crew 2 will receive free content for a year
If you have not heard of it yet, Ubisoft is no longer producing video games but "Live Services". This means that their games will continue to develop even after they are released and over a period of time new content is released. The Crew 2 will also be a "live service".
Ubisoft has introduced an additional content plan for The Crew 2 Year 1, and it consists of a combination of paid and free add-ons. Every three months the game will receive significant updates that will be free. As part of these updates will arrive, new types of racing, new vehicles and similar.
The first such update will be called Gator Rush and will be available in September and will bring five additional vehicles, Hovercraft discipline (racing on water and on land) and a new loot system (even though this existing one is also "new" since the game is not even out yet). The second expansion will be released in December, and to the game will bring a new PvP mode.
For elitists among us who can not be satisfied with free stuff, Ubisoft will also offer the Season Pass for The Crew 2, but Season Pass for now is "poor" and offers: three exclusive cars by release, a week earlier access to all additional vehicles during the year, an exclusive house and clothes, and a 20% discount on all micro-transactions.
