Ubisoft recorded the 16th-century ship sound for Assassin's Creed Odyssey

One of the best elements of the game Assassin's Creed: Black Flag was the "freedom" of controlling the ship called Jackdaw. We still remember an epic sea battles and demolition of forts, as well as pirate songs while sailing. Something similar will return in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, with additional elements of ship control.

The ship in Odyssey will be called Adrestia and the main characters will serve as a base of operations. Of course, the ship will be able to upgrade in several segments (sails, paddles, hulls and similar), which is not a novelty for the series, but for the first time we will be able to take any character with us to the ship. In fact, understand this - we somehow doubt that Socrates will agree to be part of our crew, but who knows - is not like Odyssey represents an authentic view of history.

Still, we have to admit that Ubisoft has really tried to bring an authentic atmosphere of sailing. Namely, they managed to record sound on a Spanish galley from the 16th century. That ship might not originate from ancient Greece, but when you hear that squeak of boards while you're walking through Adrestia, you will know at least that it is a squeak of real wooden boards, and not the sound of some one in Ubisoft leaning back in their office chair.
