FIFA 19 will be transparent around packs for Ultimate Team mode

Earlier this year, Belgium and the Netherlands agreed that some video games were opposed to their legal gambling regulations. According to this law, the FIFA games series is one of the "guilty" because it is about the games that can be bought and played also by children older than three years and can then spend real money without knowing what will get for it. Electronic Arts declares that it does not agree that there are elements of gambling in FIFA games, since it is not gambling if the user always gets something, and can not cash out received (at least not by official means).

However, it seems to us that the Belgians and the Dutch have done a favor to all of us because EA Sports was forced to changes in Fifa 19. The changes are small but could be very significant and are tied to the transparency about the chances to get rewards within the FUT package .

So far, for each type of packs, we knew everything that we can get in it - for example, 12 items and a rare card. However, in Fifa 19 this will be further highlighted, so we will, for example, know in what percentage is our chance to pull out some very valuable card from a pack. The chances of winning will remain the same, but now it will still be officially known whether they are five, seven or ten percent. Some calculations have already existed, but have always been unofficial.

However, it is still unclear to what extent the chances of winning will be revealed. We probably will not have information on how many players cards we will get, and how many of other things; but this is something that Fifa fans have been secretly wishing for a long time.
