FINAL FANTASY XIV fitht big patch 4.5 A Requiem for Heroes is going live today with several new features, dungeons, raid tiers and trials. This patch will be Part 1 out of 2 before the new expansion will go live at the end of this year.

At the latest FFXIV Fanfest, we were already teased with the new Shadowbringers expansion that will hit FFXIV after Part 1 and Part 2 of 4.5 will concluded. We got a short little snippet of what is to come and now, we can puzzle together the pieces on how the lore will play out. What will happen to the nations of Eorzea, how is the Garlean empire involved and what fate awaits out favourite twins and our sleeping friends.
New Alliance Raid: Return to Ivalice
Beckoned by the auracite, you arrive at the Orbonne Monastery─vestige of an ancient civilization lost beneath the twisted roots and vines of a forbidden jungle. The Durai Papers claim this holy sanctuary to be where the tale of young Ramza Beoulve began. Tonight, it is where your tale ends.
The final Alliance Raid for the Ivalice Raid Tier is now live. We even meet some old friends...
New Job: Blue Mage
A so-called mage of rather questionable character claims to have mastered an outlandish form of spellcasting that resembles neither black nor white magic during his voyage to the New World. Allegedly, anyone who purchases one of his soul crystals can learn to mimic the aetherial magicks of wild creatures. But can he be trusted, or is he merely a con artist looking to make a quick gil?
Blue Mage will be a solo-play class level capped at level 50. Blue Mages can copy spells from diffrent beasts and bosses and collect them in the "Blue Magic Spellbook" to later use them in combat and at the exclusive "Masked Carnivale" for rewards. This class will not be able to raid or queue for dungeons yet. We will see how it will be expanded in Shadowbringers.
New Trial: The Wrath of Snakes
Having quelled the raging aramitama of the fearsome Byakko and the fiery Suzaku, the time has come for the Warrior of Light to confront the fourth member of this legendary band of heroes: Seiryu. Have no doubt that his trial will prove every bit as challenging as his comrades', for not only must you contend with the auspice himself, but his host of minions as well...
After the amazing Suzaku fight, we know fight big snake man and hope to drop our dog after hundred and hundreds of runs. The final dog mount is live, so if your RNG is high and you farmed them enough, you can finally get a beautiful mount and cherish all the jealous gazes locked onto your character!
Gold Saucer Updates: Doman Mahjong
The ancient Doman game of mahjong joins the entertainment on offer at the Gold Saucer. Face off against your fellow adventurers or practice against automata, and hone your strategies to triumph in this contest of wits!
Doman Mahjong will be a new game to play alone or against other players at the Gold Saucer. Additional new events and rewards will be added - including a very cool flying cactuar to spend your hard earned MGP on! I have already spent 80 minutes in a single round without knowing what I was doing, great fun! Better watch some tutorials on Mahjong if you want to be a master - or play some Yakuza.
New Dungeon: The Ghimlyt Dark
For those who dare travel twixt Aldenard and Ilsabard, there is but one path, and it leads through Ghimlyt. A confluence of harsh terrain and aetheroclimatic conditions have shrouded the land in perpetual darkness, and it is here the decisive battle for Eorzea begins. But can the Warrior of Light prevail in this land long since lost to the light?
