Sony takes sides with the movement #MeToo and ban Sexual Content in Videogames

Sony has stated in their guidelines that from now on the games with sexual content must be censored or banned from its store.

The fear of legal and social actions against its company, lead sony to a hard decision. With the born of the movement #MeToo, Sony had fear of being accused to vehicular a degrading image of the woman through its platform and takes this decision to protect its image and prevent any kind of concerns.

Many developers do not approve the decision of Sony and are thinking about what to do now. With the imminent announce of the PlayStation 5, could this be a good decision from Sony?

The players are divided. There is who claims that this is a good thing to protect children and the image of the women. But there is also who claims that this is just censorship of the art, a victory for all who has always claimed that the videogames have a bad influence in the players, porting them to violence and to imitate bad examples. There is also who thinks that should not be allowed to social and politic movements to interfere with the creation of content or "art".

What will happen now? And what will happen to the AAA games that has sexual content in the PS Store?

Instead, Valve (Steam) and Nintendo (Switch) thinks different from Sony, because they opened to sexual content in games as long as there is a correct rating to inform the people and protect the children.

And about the objectivation of the woman..ugh.. i kinda see their point, but it's still fiction. Why don't they straight up censor every tv shows then?
