Free-to-Play Monster Hunter like Role-Player DAUNTLESS is Finally Launching Today 21st May
Official launch today
Eagerly anticipated RPG Dauntless is finally ready for launch after an extensive period of open beta testing. The game bills itself as a free-to-play Monster Hunter type of game.
Powerful, wild, and ravenous for the aether that holds the Shattered Isles aloft, Behemoths are a threat to our very existence. Team up with other Slayers to confront these massive beasts before they consume what's left of our world.
Dauntless will be released next week on 21 May for XBOX, PS4 and PC platform through the Epic Store. Yep, another much anticipated game is bypassing Steam once more. However, the game also promises to be available for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, although no launch date have been announced for the latter.
Dauntless will launch with all of the features and gameplay improvements that Phoenix Labs recently introduced in open beta. There will be a new Mastery system, which the developer says "offers a new way for Slayers to hone their skills, earn experience, unlock achievements, and acquire new rewards." The game's campaign has also received a "massive rework."
Dauntless will have a season system much like Fortnite where Battle Passes can be purchased every few months. If the game seems familiar, it might be because our very own Alienware Arena had a gift pack giveaway over a year ago. There are still limited keys available for the cosmetics if you're interested in signing up for Dauntless.
Season 5 Hidden Blades will launch together with Dauntless' official release. Hidden Blades gives holders a chance to unlock special cosmetic items and other rewards. With this season's pass, the Shattered Isles will receive a makeover for the Moon Blossom Festival, and there will be an assortment of ninja-themed gear to earn.
