Sonic The Hedgehog Movie Delayed for Redesign but No VFX Artists will be Harmed in the Process
The Sonic the Hedgehog movie has been postponed for three months for a redesign of the much maligned character. The movie is now expected to be released in February 2020 instead of this November.
The launch of the movie's strange trailer led to a huge outcry over the appearance of Sonic among other things. Sonic was criticized for his eyes, legs, and strangely human teeth and just about everything else.
Internet fans even redesigned the hedgehog to look much more alike the gaming version and questioned if the VFX artists for the movie has ever seen a Sonic game.

Obviously the studio sat up and took notice. The director of the movie, Jeff Fowler, announced that changes would be forthcoming but “no VFX artists were harmed in the making of this movie.”

Makes you kind of wonder why they didn't just make Sonic look like Sonic in the first place.
