I'm so excited to see an in-depth review by trusted reviewers. Click on the link for the 30 min review video!

Highlights:

  • 144Hz makes the game much more immersive
  • LCD doesn't have great contrast but very fast refresh to minimize ghosting
  • Attachment for smaller heads
  • Audio that hovers above the ear allows for great sound as well as awareness of the environment.  Great fidelity with bass and loudness.  Nothing pressed against the ear allows for longer gameplay and no worries about heat dissipation.
  • Good FOV depending on how close you can put it closer to your eyes as well as angled lens
  • Very good material for the face mask
  • Frunk for expandability
  • Valve Index controllers tremendously improved from the wands and can be the standard for all VR controllers.  Innate safety since the controller is strapped to your fingers
  • Finger tracking built-in so gestures can be used

The Valve Index is here! We spend a week testing the Valve Index virtual reality headset and share our extended hands-on impressions for the wider field of view, higher resolution, increased framerate, and speaker audio quality. Plus, how games so far are accommodating the new "knuckles" style Index controllers. Let us know what you'd like to see tested below!

So expensive

This is for the higher end of the market looking for the ultimate VR experience.  This is just the price of the VR kit.  You'll also need a beefy computer to get the most out of it too.
