Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC - buggy debut

Rockstar Games certainly imagined the day when Red Dead Redemption 2 debuted on PCs absolutely differently. Players massively report problems with launching this game. Those who succeeded, however, do not necessarily have to be satisfied, because it is still not better - for some the sound does not work properly, for others the game "hangs", and for others - it goes to the desktop. As RDR2 Reddit community report:

Crash issues:

  • Crashing to desktop at intro/shotgun screen - Fix: Some players are reporting that disabling your antivirus resolves this.
  • Crashing to desktop Online - No known fix yet.
  • Crashing when trying to run benchmark.
  • Crashing when amending settings (graphics, controls etc).
  • Fps drop during the gameplay (Nvidia graphics card users using the Vulkan API are advised to switch to DirectX, which may - but does not have to - help.

The following fixes have had varying success:

  • Updating Bios.
  • Updating graphics drivers.
  • Disabling antivirus.

If Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC exits unexpectedly, the Rockstar advises driver update and running the game as an administrator.

Well - it's regrettable that the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 on personal computers did not go as planned.

Just like Gears 5 then? BTW, my antivirus (on/off) is not the issue. It still hangs/softlocks either way. Easy Anti-Cheat see's itself as problem as well.

G5 also had problems? Didn't know.
