At least for now, gaming systems get little to no performance improvement from 16 GB to 32 GB, hardly justifiying the cost to buying 32 GB. As long as you have a good GPU, 16 GB might be ok for now and years to come, as game industry knows the majority of PC games is between entry-level and intermediate performance due hardware costs.

I built my new rig in December. Went for an i5 9600kf, and RTX 2080 Super and 32gb of RAM. To be honest, I coulda gone with 16gb and saved a few quid but my old PC which was 7 years old was running 16gb of RAM. And it seemed a bit daft for it to not have 32gb.

If you want to play the new Flight Sim game they recommend 32gb of RAM.

16gb is the sweet spot for now, might want to upgrade other parts if you still have cash on hand
