Viking survival game got sold in Early Access at 2 million copies!
At the moment, Valheim is one of the most popular games on Steam. According to the statistics at SteamDB, only PUBG, Dota 2 and CS:GO are having more peoples playing at the same time. Since the 2nd of February, the game can be bought on Steam for 16.79€.
The game makes use of procedurally generated environments in which 1 to 10 players have to try to survive. The goal of the game is reaching Asgard. Asgard is the place where all Norse gods are living, according to the myth. Players have to work together and have to create items and buildings. On their journey, they also have to fight numerous monsters.
Iron Gate wants to keep the game in Early Access mode for at least a year. In that year they will continue the development and act upon the player's feedback to fix possible bugs. At the moment the game is only half done when it comes to content and three quarters when it comes to features and mechanics. In the end, there have to be more places to go to, more enemies to encounter and more bosses to fight. There also have to be more materials for the players to use to craft items and build structures.
The developer studio, Iron Gate, promised to come with some sort of road map somewhere in the near future so that players have an overview of what is yet to come.
