In 2013 I directed my film Frankenstein’s Army. It’s a crazy monster movie filled with my own creature designs, one of which has been used - completely without authorization or credit in the newest Resident Evil game. #monsterdesign #residentevil #r_games #residentevilproject #gamedesign #gameart #plagiarism #copyright #gemart #characterdsign #conceptart #movieart #frankensteinsarmy #zombot #propellerhead #copyright

Although as the saying goes plagiarism is the highest form of flattery filmmaker Richard Raaphorst has denounced CAPCOM for some of the monster designs featured in Resident Evil Village, alleging in a LinkedIn post that they have been taken without authorization or credit from his 2013 movie Frankenstein's Army.

What do you think? Intellectual property theft or mere coincidence?

Interstellar

i think that this is a mere coincidence, and even if they did saw his old movie and got inspired for a robotic, airplane rotor-head monster, isnt a vague concept to get angry at someone for?

unless mr Richard Raaphorst is doing this for a publicity stunt for his old+new movies, then he should stop being an angry old man and to stop complaining about a great company such as capcom making an epic game that has 1 character that slightly looks like his old movies lesser character.

if capcom had actually copied some of his characters, then yeah, sure it would be awful and he would have every right to sue them for a lack of credit to his hard work.

but in this case, the director is just out of his mind, to put it mildly.
and frankenstein's army is an obscure B movie that is weirder than a wooden iron thats wrapped with electric eels, so he shouldnt worry too much about it...
