Biggest game purchase regret

What is your biggest game purchase regret?

Mine was cyberpunk 2077.  I usually don't buy games on full price but the hype just got to me.  gameplay was really dissapointing to me.

PSVR ($350) + Resident Evil 7 ($59.99)

......I got motion sickness within the first 10 minutes, couldn't continue without having to vomit. Sold the VR and game on eBay..... blush

Diablo 3. I had preordered that one and, oh boy, what a disappointment that was. Drops were terrible, you had to use that stupid auction house if you wanted to get decent gear, the last act felt rushed and was empty, plus... Diablo was easier to beat than some other bosses. And he looked like a famished demon, not like the Lord of Terror he was supposed to be. Now, I revisited the game last year and... yeah, it's in a much better state. No more auction house, nice loot drops at last.

Ouch. O_o You, sir, just annihilated the thread, that cannot possibly be topped.

A game on steam called Kings and Heroes. This game can't even be played anymore because it was always online and servers are gone. Second place is Planet Explorers. The game used to be multiplayer but the devs lost the code and multiplayer was ruined somehow. I don't know more details, but I bought the game to play with friends and then after awhile they removed multiplayer. Very disappointing. Third place is probably Second Extinction.

Mine was the ps3/ps4, I traded in my Xbox 360 so I could afford it. The ps4 ended up breaking and my Playstation account got hacked and I lost all my digital games.

I ended up selling the broken ps4 to gamestop for credit, folks hate on gamestop a lot but they give a fair amount for broken consoles.

It was Just cause 3

Just Cause 2 is one of my favourite games.

It looked great, the map was huge and it was, above all, an absolute blast (excuse the pun) to play. Hundreds of hours of fun and exploration, mayhem and hilariously frantic emergent gameplay. I spent 300 hours wreaking absolute havoc on a beautifully realised, living, breathing country.

Packed to the rafters with collectibles, charm, and interesting locations and characters, JC2 could teach GTAV a thing or two about how to actually make (and keep) a massive environment interesting and fun. Best value for money for a PC game ever. (Well, until Witcher 3)

So I couldn’t wait for Just Cause 3 to arrive.

So imagine my horror when I finally got my hands on a copy of JC3, only to find that they’d stripped anything approaching a good game from it.

The graphics are poor, over-saturated and cartoon-like, the AI is laughably non-existent, and the HUD is uninformative, intrusive and over-large, giving you information you don’t want or need rather than the things that you do, and forcing online stats and challenges that you don’t care about into what is a single player game.

On top of that the environment was empty and uninteresting, the story was utterly unengaging, and (going alongside the awful AI) about the only way to die is two direct tank rounds to the face.

Yes, two.

I managed to fight off an uncountable amount of soldiers, four APCs, two tanks and four helicopters (mostly with a pistol) on my first post-tutorial mission.

Despite literally hundreds of hours enjoying JC2, I lasted just 5 hours in JC3 before it was mothballed forever.

A terrible, terrible disappointment.

World of Tanks & World fo Warships - every second and purchase was a mistake and I regret it badly. I nearly lost my life partially because of thos games.

I just got oculus quest 2 and it took at least an hour of playing before I stopped getting motion sick (unless I played one specific game)

Rainbow six siege... so much p2w. It kind of sucks that you have to pay for all of the operators besides the tutorial one and maybe a couple others
