19 year old Korean artist draws Guilty Gear characters in style of traditional Japanese art
These images all seem to nod back to more traditional Japanese art, and perhaps it's the double whammy of Nagoriyuki being a samurai that makes him pair so well with it.
The picture of Millia Rage sees her use her extremely versatile hair to garner a wing that allows her up into the clouds. These clouds appear more than a few times in the gallery, and kind of remind us of the famous The Great Wave off Kanagawa woodblock print.
Though she's not in Guilty Gear Strive, (at least not yet) Baiken, another samurai fighter, also gets her own portrait. Her image is very similar to Nagoriyuki's with the red sun amid a blue/green background, and is almost as gorgeous.
Given the wave-like execution of the cloud-like matter in these, the way Han Gong incorporates Giovanna's wolf spirit, Rey, is perfect. The furry green companion wraps around Giovanna, much in the way we normally see them, as though he were a cloud about to envelope her.
