It's a shame you weren't around 10-15 years ago. That's when Steam was actually good and the Summer and Winter sales were legendary.

I agree. Old times was a bit different, we got Flash Deals every 8(?) hours and final 2 days we got an encore sale. Plus, sales have better community events and you can get something cool or fun. Still, by prices it's not bad.
