There's an issue that appears to be caused by a change in standard privacy settings on Steam, where now you have to be logged in to see a user's Library (owned games).
This means that it is unlikely that this site will be able to verify owned games (unless it's logged into an account while looking at game libraries; most bots don't work this way).
It should still be able to pull game information if you've recently played it (meaning it will show on the home page of your profile publicly).

One additional point is the ability to hide a game from your profile; this will also break detection of the game, as it will prevent the game from showing on the home page of your profile.

The workaround to this issue is to run the game for a minute or two, then shut it down so it will show on the home page of your profile, at which point you can start the quest.

Huh? You say something has changed, but give us the same old steps to have AWA recognize a game in our Steam library. 😕

Currently having this issue with Dota. Game and playtime are set to public. I let the game run for a minute and it shows in my profile, but alienware arena doesn't show that I have it. Any other ideas?

I have the same issue with DOTA 2, no issues with Helldivers 2 or Choose Your Own

<mention>WonderGamer</mention> AWA will only recognize games listed in "Steam Profile/Games/Recently Played". The games must show registered playtime on the store page. By experience it can take a bit of time before it's recognized by a ref

<mention>rsline</mention> <mention>andeedoo</mention> Run the game for like 5~10 min (just a little longer), then close it and recheck AWA (if you want logout and relogin) then click again the Check Game button to let it sync to find it.

This isn't even new. You just have to run a game for it to work, and ensure it's not hidden. Ostensibly your profile can't be hidden either (which is a thing in most places I participate due to the technical aspects of how it works).

DOTA 2 was the game I was also having problems with getting detected, I used the workaround previously mentioned to get around it.

Ok yeah, 5 minutes of play time isn't enough, takes like a good 10 minutes or more for it to finally sync up.
