AMD Zen

  • 118

AMD Zen is coming out this spring, but no one is really cheering it on. Perhaps it is because of the little recognizance that it gets after AMD put it on hold from the market several months ago. Intel's Skylake processors are currently dominating the market, and with little competition, AMD's going to get a huge chunk of its market torn out and handed to Intel. But the real question is, if and when Zen arrives, how will it root out Skylake's exponentially increasing support, and how will it balance out the spectrum?

Either way, Intel needs competition just like Nvidia. Prices should be better if they are competing unlike now where Intel and Nvidia doing whatever they please. lol

It's probably because AMD cpu's haven't been that good in the last couple of years. So people simply forgot about them. I read about Zen some time ago, they showed good promise but we will see

I'm still waiting eagerly. I'll go for a $200-$250 range CPU if they're good, which I expect it to be.

It may not take a huge chunk away from Intel but it will still be some degree of competition, which is good. AMD was always about that good bang for your buck but I haven't really seen that lately and I do hope they step up their game.
