The characters in Mass Effect Andromeda got beautified, now they look more normal

  • 37

As it was promised, the first major patch for Mass Effect Andromeda somewhat improved the situation with numerous problems to which the players have complained in recent weeks. Of course, the first change that catches the eye are the very eyes of the characters.

BioWare has identified that the eyes are the main culprit of "tired face", or wooden facial animation. They`ve made of course some small, but very significant changes in the presentation of the eyes and the display quality of the same. The change is seen in the fact that the sclera of the characters do not shine as before. On the iris and pupil so falls light shadow of the upper eyelid so the characters do not look like they`ve  dropped out of some cartoon.

In addition to cosmetic changes of the eyes update issued also a bunch of other useful things, such as the possibilities for stopping animation. Were inserted also subtle changes in animations for dialogue then timings of individual conversations, what can most clearly be seen in the famous dialogue involving "tired face".

By comparison, this is how things looked a few days ago.

After playing for a few hours yesterday the patch changes are very noticeable. While running still needs some work, eyes and lips have improved dramatically. My Ryders slicked-back hair also seems to be better rendered now.

Hallelujah, we may have a chance to get into to story now....
