Playerunknown Battleground players collected 220 thousand dollars for charity

Some may fall silent when they see that the best-selling game at Steam this year is a shooter that promotes the motto that win those who are the most skilled, not necessarily the best. However, this "kill or be killed" game has its own positive side. Its popularity enabled the tournament to be held in the Gamers Outreach organization, and all the earnings of the event went to the purchase of medical equipment for the treatment of children.

In the tense tournament, some of the best players of the PUBG participated, and on the basis of their competition 123 thousand US dollars were collected. The Bluehole developer game added 100 thousand dollars to that amount so with the help of the PUBG in the end eventually was donated nearly a quarter of a million dollars.

Of course, the contestants themselves did not go without their prizes so the two best took home GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards.

As much as I personally dislike the genre and do not play it, it's always nice to see gamers uniting to do something good. It shows community in a good way to the outside world. Better to hear news story "gamers collected money for charity" than another media story about video games being related to violence.

Good to see this (and several other games) raising a bunch of money for charity recently.  It's nice when gaming can also help good causes.
