Rust lost a huge sum on the player's refund requests

A survival game called Rust is one of the indie successes on Steam, despite the many controversies that have been linked to it in the last three years. But Rust in one thing is not very successful. As the creator reveals, the game has a high degree of repulsiveness of players who are not sure what the game should be.

Rust has like that after less than two hours of playing decided to refund about 330 thousand players. When requests for a refund in the Steam Refund system are added, Rust and his developer lost more than four million dollars of earnings.

Developer says the most common complaint that players are looking for their money back is explanation that the game is not fun. Given that Rust has a long learning curve and that the beginning of the game is difficult because you are literally naked and barefoot, developer claims that he understands why statistics is like that.

However, the creator of Rust believes that the option of refunding money has helped developers more, because many users see it as a replacement for the demo version. Since there is no statistics on how many people would not buy the game that Steam Refund does not exist, it's difficult to know how many people decided to buy just because they were able to get a refund, but in the end they did not decide on that because they liked the game.

It's amazing that this game has not been released yet. Are they not want to complete the game development?

Namaste

This is functioning exactly as it's supposed to.  I don't see the issue here.

Galactic

I couldn't even find a way to play this with friends (as in, form a party and actually find them ingame)... I didn't refund only because I got this in a Humble Bundle, otherwise there would definitely be 329971 refunds.

Pica das Galáxias

Rust is a scam joke. The game was "released" in 2013 and is still in early access.

Interstellar

'many users see it as a replacement for the demo version' = not only users, developers also see it like this and don't provide a demo for their game. 'there is no statistics on how many people would not buy the game that Steam Refund does not exist' = haha! 75% of steam users.
