Warhammer Vermintide 2 will not protect Denuvo technology because it is against the philosophy of developers
Two months ago, independent developer Fatshark announced Warhammer Vermintide 2, a continuation of a very successful Warhammer: End of Times - Vermintide co-operative game, which we played for the first time in 2015 on PC. As the second part comes out in the first quarter of next year, the co-founder and the Technical Director of the Swedish-based studio announced that it will not use Denuvo Anti-Temper technology.
"Working with our players to create the best possible game is a key part of our philosophy of video game development; either through listening to community feedback, encouraging interaction between players, encouraging creators to modify, or enforcing rules on inadmissible DLCs. As long as we provide good experience and have open communication with our players, we believe that they will remain loyal and support us to provide them even more. Denuvo would have been extravagant and it would defy with our philosophy", said Rikard Blomberg.
Simply put, Fatshark's philosophy of video game development is based on one of the key ingredients - the community. Following that, Denuvo's protection had to drop out of the game.
