Warhammer Vermintide 2 will not protect Denuvo technology because it is against the philosophy of developers

Two months ago, independent developer Fatshark announced Warhammer Vermintide 2, a continuation of a very successful Warhammer: End of Times - Vermintide co-operative game, which we played for the first time in 2015 on PC. As the second part comes out in the first quarter of next year, the co-founder and the Technical Director of the Swedish-based studio announced that it will not use Denuvo Anti-Temper technology.

"Working with our players to create the best possible game is a key part of our philosophy of video game development; either through listening to community feedback, encouraging interaction between players, encouraging creators to modify, or enforcing rules on inadmissible DLCs. As long as we provide good experience and have open communication with our players, we believe that they will remain loyal and support us to provide them even more. Denuvo would have been extravagant and it would defy with our philosophy", said Rikard Blomberg.

Simply put, Fatshark's philosophy of video game development is based on one of the key ingredients - the community. Following that, Denuvo's protection had to drop out of the game.

And right. Developers should take care of the comfort of those who purchased their game for money, and not try to delay the inevitable, delivering problems in the form of additional burden for the "licensed" players.

That a good decision i don't think piracy affect  sales that much anyway . Maybe having denuvo affect it as much.

Modest

Would have made more sense here than for Sonic Mania. Respect to the developers, though. If Denuvo causes hardware issues for any paying customer, it's tough for me to justify using it regardless of effectiveness.

Interstellar

Because of the reason regardless of the effect or protection itself, but still seems that Denuvo lost the trust. Can they improve to satisfy us?

Philosophy of developers must be more aware about what customers want!

Interstellar

...and also Vermintide is mostly an online game so no need to add a DRM that is used to protect singleplayer games. But I appreciate the developers words and their stance towards denuvo.

FPS COOP

The first one in the series is actually pretty fun, very L4D2 alike. However, very few players are aware of the game...

Didnt know anything about denuvo anti temper technology. You learn something everyday!
