Announced DAKAR 18, the official Dakar Rally game

As things stand now, in 2018 we could have more off-road racing games than classic racing on asphalt. With different terrains we will be able to drive in Gravel, MX vs ATV All Out, OnRush, Descenders and Monster Energy Supercross, and now to these games joined another title.

The publisher Deep Silver announced DAKAR 18, the official Dakar Rally game developed by Bigmoon Entertainment. About the game for now we do not know much, but its first trailer is impressive - although it's not here about in-game displays but CG material. According to official description, DAKAR 18 will offer one of the largest open worlds in racing games and realistic simulation of the world's largest cross-country rally.

As you can see from the trailer, we will drive different types of vehicles, from motorcycles, cars, trucks, quads and SxSs. The game will be divided into singleplayer and online multiplayer components.

DAKAR 18 does not have a precise release date yet, but we can expect it during 2018 on PC, PS4 and XBOX platforms.

I don't mind sand as long as I don't have to breathe it. I wonder how the physics are for windblown sand in this game?

The Dakar is a unique event but I am not sure you can base a game on it. I mean do I really want to spend 4 hours navigating across sand dunes which all look the same like the actual race??
