Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will completely remove loot boxes
It seems that the saga about Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and quasi-P2W model will finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Namely, progression in multiplayer component of this game will no longer be tied to loot boxes, or randomly obtaining Star Cards.
Instead of the existing Battlefront 2 system, you will get a fairly straightforward and easy system: by collecting experience for a particular class, you get "skill point" for unlocking or upgrading the desired Star Card. The system is so simple that your brain stumbles when you try to figure out why it was not like that from the beginning. Oh yes, EA progression in the game wanted to charge with microtransactions.
These microtransactions are still coming, but EA says it will be related to modifying the appearance of the characters, and that will be of "cosmetic nature". Contrary to what the finance director of Electronic Arts claimed a few months ago, modifying the look of the characters will not care much for Star Wars canon, so we may still get to see pink Darth Vader. It is worth mentioning that cosmetic items can also be purchased for credits, or the currency you earn by playing.
It is also worth noting that loot boxes will not completely disappear as we suggested in the title. That is, it will disappear in the context of character progression, although it will still appear as daily rewards.
All these changes to progression system will not affect the current progression of players, so all the equipment and all the amenities you have achieved so far remain in your property.
This big change in Star Wars Battlefront 2 comes from 21st of this month, next Wednesday, and applies to all versions of the game.
