YouTube star TotalBiscuit dies

One of the most famous commentators and critics on YouTube, TotalBiscuit, died yesterday at age 33. By the real name John Peter Bain, this Brit broke through to YouTube scene at the beginning of the decade by treating the gaming theme through comments from popular video games, as well as lesser-known indie works. Bain on his YouTube channel had 2.2 million followers, and on Steam his reviews followed more than 800,000 people.

TotalBiscuit, also known as The Cynical Brit, was suffering from a bowel cancer that was diagnosed to him in early 2015. Although his condition seemed over the last months stable, Bain was hospitalized in mid-April and confirmed that his cancer had spread and had become resistant to chemotherapy. After this diagnosis, Bain announced that he was pulling out of the scene and hoped that his wife would take over the YouTube channel when he is no longer.
