Assassin's Creed Odyssey will not use American actors

Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed series has had a number of situations over the years because of which players have not take AC seriously. One such situation was when the French characters in Assassin's Creed Unity spoke with an English accent. Since then, Ubisoft has worked on acting performances, and will work also on authenticity of the same for Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey will not have American or English actors, at least not in main roles. Ubisoft Quebec team wanted to engage exclusively with actors of Greek origin, given that plot of the game takes place in ancient Greece. To the protagonists will borrow voices Michael Antonakos (as Alexios) and Melissanthi Mahut (as Kassandra).

"We really felt like it was a nice opportunity for us to have a deep dive into the culture of Greece and obviously Ancient Greece. You can have a great actor who’s great at accents, and that’s fantastic, but you can also find great Greek actors and work with them too," said Lydia Andrew, audio director for AC Odyssey.
