League of Legends Worlds 2018: Teams That Qualified

That time is of year is just around the corner. Yes, Worlds 2018. Last year, the tournament took place in the Beijing National Stadium, Beijing, China. This year, the prestigious tournament will be held in Korea.

The world’s best teams have now snagged a spot by winning tournaments in their respective regions. We will see two teams from the NA LCS, EU LCS, LML and LMS and three teams from the LCK thrown into the group stages. Third seeds from NA, EU, LPL and LMS region will only be able to compete if they win the Play-In stage which wwas against the International Wildcard teams to be able to grab the last 4 spots at Worlds 2018.

The only exception for the Wildcard teams would be from the Vietnam Region (VCS), as they had performed exceedingly well in the Mid-Season Invitational. They joined the group stages instead of battling it with the other International Wildcard teams at the Play-In Stage.

And now, we finally have our teams that we will be seeing at Worlds 2018 in South Korea:

The teams that qualified for Worlds 2018 are definitely not what we expected. SKT T1 Telekom did not qualify for Worlds this year and Vietnam is now its own region, separated from SEA region. With 14 different regions duking it out for the large prize pool at Worlds this year, we can definitely be expecting to see many different strategies and interesting team-fights.
