Monster Hunter World Iceborne Launches Beta Week with new Dynamic Difficulty System
The first Monster Hunter World Iceborne beta period is live right now, but it's only available to those that have PS Plus. Next week, however, all PS4 players can join in on the hunt. You do not need a copy of Monster Hunter to participate and Preload options will be available a couple of days before each beta period begins.
In Monster Hunter World, monster difficulties vary from solo to multiplayer games. A solo fight monster usually has half the health of a party hunt monster. But that doesn't change even if you are in a party of 3 or 4. This makes two player hunts a drag compared to if you have a full party.
So in line with the difficulty scaling systems in many current MMOs, Monster Hunter World will introduce a Dynamic Difficulty System for the game beginning with the Iceborne beta.
Also in the beta, you can explore the training area and participate in three quests: Great Jagras hunt from the base game for newbies, the new horned brute wyvern Banbaro hunt for intermediate players, and the returning monster Tigrex hunt for advanced players. The beta will also let you test out all 14 weapon types and completing each quest nets you a consumable item pack that will be available when Iceborne launches.
