Maplestory 2 shuts down on the 27 of May

Unfortunately, Maplestory 2 did not achieve success as Nexon desired, as they have officially announced the closure of their service which will take place tomorrow, on the 27 of May.

I was a big fan of the first Maplestory, as I started playing it on version 0.55 when the pirate class did not exist. I gave Maplestory 2 a try when it first came out, but I couldn’t enjoy the gameplay (not sure why).

Nexon has always been a well-budgeted company, as they are able to create massive triple AAA games but that doesn’t always mean that the game will be a success, and this is clearly seen in this scenario.

A shame. I thought it was doing well but I guess it just wasn't enough. Are they still maintaining the Original Maplestory though?

I thought it was doing good too tbh, didn't believe the news at first until I read the official Nexon article.

Regarding the Maplestory 1, what I know is (not sure) is that only the japanese servers will close, the global servers should stay on.

I played Maplestory 1  long ago, and still remember the eternal grind. M2 never caught my radar.

Those are the old gold days of Maplestory 1, now you reach level 200 in less than a week </3

Can't believe that it is happening today, enjoyed playing Maplestory alot. Back when the guild party quest was just added to the game.
