The Binding of Issac: Rebirth
Hey guys! its iJess here, if you don't already know, The Binding of Issac: Rebirth is one of my top 5 games of all time. Its one of my favorite games for the replayability and there is always something different in each run! The item and character combinations are limitless which make this game to me, personally, one of the best games ever created.
I've sunk in over 2000 hours in this game ranging from PC - 3DS - Playstation - Switch. With my mass amounts of playtime, I learned a little about the game and want to share some of my tips and tricks to becoming the best Issac you can be! For all you newbies out there, this is a great tool to give stats on items and decide if you want to pick them up in item/boss/shop rooms to compliment your build: Tool
1. Ever wonder what happens when you gulp down a bunch of "One makes you small" pills? Well, I accepted the challenge, and 18 pills later I found myself so small that my hitbox was nearly obsolete. Almost too small. I found it hard to see where my character was and bumping into things was the leading cause of damage for me.
2. I highly suggest do not gulp any "One that makes you large" pills. You make your hitbox significantly bigger and it's impossible to not take damage.
3. If you stumble across the "D4" always take it and never let it go. The D4 will prove useful in many ways. Even if on the first few uses you don't get a good build, all those items that you once had, currently have, and will have interact with each other. So you end up with a MASSIVE amount of OP synergies and transformations. The more you use it the more powerful you will become. HOWEVER. If you have full heart containers and use it, you have a chance at losing them all and only being left with one. Transformations include:
1. Beelzebub - +flight and converts small enemy flies into Blue Flies.
2. Guppy - Grants flight and spawns a Blue Fly each time a tear hits an enemy.
3. Bob - green trail of poisonous creep.
4. Conjoined - Little Issac tumor shoots tears
5. Fun Guy - +1 heart
6. Leviathan +Flight and +2 black hearts
7. Oh Crap - When poop is destroyed it restores 1/2 heart
8. Seraphim - +flight +3 soul hearts
9. Spun - +2 damage +0.15 attack speed
10. Adult - +1 heart 11. Bookworm - 50% chance to shoot double tears
11. Spider Baby - Spawn spider familiars
12. Stompy - rock shock wave
13. Yes, mother? - gains stationary knife
14. Super bum - Replaces bum friend, dark bum, and key bum for the super bum.
4. Some items are better than others. You always have to be thinking of your goal for your current run. Are you trying to quickly run to the Boss Rush in 20 minutes or less? Are you in it for the long haul and want to defeat Delirium? When you are trying to beat timed challenges, there can be no time for shopping at the store or finding mystery rooms.
Timed Challenges: Make your way to the item room and then directly to the boss room. If you have lots of coins and have time to stop at the shop, go for it. Try to purchase the "Treasure Map" which reveals the entire map, "The Compass" the "Cyrstal Ball", or "Book of Secrets".
Long Haul: When attempting to make it to the end and defeat the secret boss, take your time on ALL floors. Shoot tears at poops to see if they hold coins, and try to find mystery rooms. Your goal is to make yourself as strong as possible in order to beat the boss.
5. Not every run is a good run. Sometimes it's better to start a new round and wait for a good starting item.
6. The more you play, the more you unlock. The more items = the more synergies.
