(PSA)Free Minecraft Java Edition for owners of the Windows 10 edition of the game

There is some excellent news for owners of either Minecraft Java Edition or Minecraft Bedrock Edition! Starting tomorrow, June 7th, these Minecraft games won't be sold separately and will be included in a single package!

Anyone who owns either Minecraft Java or Bedrock Edition will receive the missing part absolutely for free! To keep it short and clear, if you own Minecraft Windows 10 Edition (Bedrock), you will receive Minecraft Java Edition for free!

The same goes for Minecraft Java Edition owners. If you miss Minecraft Bedrock Edition, you will soon gain access to it, free of charge!

Isn't that wonderful news for all Minecraft players? According to the official source, it will take up to even three days for the edition you don't currently own to show up if you are eligible for the deal.

All players that have either Java Edition or Bedrock Edition will receive the edition they do not currently own for free, right in the Minecraft Launcher. So if you own Java, you’ll get Bedrock – and vice versa.

If you have bought Minecraft before, you’re now getting the other edition for free. Woot! Follow these steps to redeem it:

  1. Click here to go to the Microsoft Store listing for Minecraft: Java & Bedrock for PC.

  2. Sign-in to the Microsoft Store with your Microsoft account. Please note: If you still only have a Mojang account and have not yet migrated to a Microsoft account, you will have to migrate to a Microsoft account before you can redeem your new game. Don’t fret, migrating your account is easy and free! (Click here to learn more about account migration or migrate your account now to take advantage of this offer.)

  3. Once you’re signed in, instead of a “Buy” button you should see a button that says “Get.” Click this button – and now you own both editions!

Yeah I got both now !  To check just open Windows Store and goto Gaming and look for the banner for the game or search Minecraft : Java & Bedrock Edition for PC and if you own one or the other it should just say " Install ".

Hi, I am not sure, what's about those who owns Minecraft on PS4? Can we get this promo as well? Tqsm

Truth I dont know. In theory this might come out on consoles at a later date. But I do know the version that is sold on PS4 is the Bedrock Version and the Java it not sold or might not even run on a PS4 being it has no Java install, Xbox has the Java version due to it has slightly older version of Java installed. So just have to waitt and see.

I see, thank you for your reply. I was thinking if possible to get the pc version by having the ps4 haha. Anyway, thank you
