Need for Speed Payback strikes cars like on pinball machine
One of the big novelties for the next Need for Speed title, called Payback, will be scripted action-focused missions. Exactly that one was demonstrated us Ghost Games development team for E3 in the starting mission called Highway Heist.
The premise is that two people plan to steal a Koenigsegg Reger from a truck that`s delivering it through highway. Of course, the truck has escorts so the whole chase looks bombastic and explosive, just like Fast & Furious movies.
It can be immediately noticed that NFS Payback stole the spirit of Burnout, at least as far as the collision is concerned, because there is enough of it in here. Of course, given that a player must have some advantage in the middle of an action, his car is a little more capable than any other so his opponents without too much effort flips and sends them to the crashed garbage.
Given the constant modification of gameplay and playing scenes, it is to be assumed that the game runs in 30 frames per second to achieve a "movie" experience. The question is whether it will be locked on these 30 frames or will the PC version and version for PS4 Pro and Scorpio will have a special treatment.
